About Murmur Informatics

A small, focused practice providing pragmatic technology leadership and implementation support for startups and growing organizations.

Murmur Informatics Inc. builds and supports web applications, with a focus on long-lived, maintainable software. The practice is led by Chris Wise, who has been developing software in Ottawa since the early 1990s.

Experience spans hands-on development, architecture, infrastructure, and executive leadership. That includes co-founding and scaling a technology company from a three-person startup into a team of hundreds, with responsibilities across engineering, security, privacy, and IT operations.

The work today is centred around helping founders and teams make good decisions, avoid unnecessary complexity, and ship stable, reliable software that can grow with the business.
